Between them, they've played the most legendary killers, cops and underdogs in Hollywood. So it is not surprising that when we recently brought Al Pacino and Robert De Niro together for a photo shoot, a sort of hysterical hush fell over the room -- no small thing considering about 40 people, from a director to myriad publicists and stylists, crammed into the small set.
"When those guys walked in the room, it was like when I went to the White House to photograph the president," says our shoot supervisor, Jennifer Dorn, who has worked on dozens of USA WEEKEND covers, from Brad Pitt to Bill Clinton. "It's like everything they've ever played and been in history kind of rushes toward you."
Still, Dorn says the situation was "unique." After the 8 p.m. shoot, the two Oscar winners did what any real pros would do: They went back to work, finishing up their movie "Righteous Kill."
