It's been one of Hollywood's most perplexing modern mysteries - until now.
When Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton celebrated their short-lived union from 2000 to 2003, the two famously wore vials of each other's blood and treated the red carpet like their living room.
Rumours surrounding the couple's allegedly dark behaviours became more outrageous as time went on and they've rarely spoken about their time together since splitting after three years of marriage 11 years ago.
Angelina is happily married to Brad Pitt, her partner of nearly 10 years and Thornton is in a long-term relationship with Connie Angland.
But he finally broke his silence and explained the truth, saying they didn't wear vials of each other's blood, instead insisting they just cut their fingers and smeared their blood on matching lockets.

"We were apart a lot because she's off making Tomb Raider and I'm making Monster’s Ball. We were on opposite ends, we see each other for two weeks and whatever."She thought it would be interesting and romantic if we took a little razorblade and sliced our fingers, smeared a little blood on these lockets and you wear it around your neck just like you wear your son or daughter’s baby hair in one. Same thing."
It was also reported at the time they had a dungeon in their home, which Thornton says was misconstrued.
"I mean it had some basis in fact. I mean you know we had a basement which I had a recording studio in. So it was a recording studio and so when I tell a journalist I stay down in the dungeon all the time, you know, recording music and they don’t hear recording music, they hear dungeon. You know. Because it makes a better story."
